End of Year Activities Updates

Charger Families,

I hope this email finds you doing well! We wanted to provide you with some Dundee-Crown specific information and updates about end of year activities over the next couple of weeks or so.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Details about each event can be found below or in the Senior Brochure.

May 7 and 8 - Return your materials to the Media Center - Media Center open from 7 AM to 4 PM.

May 8 - Last Day of School for Seniors

May 11 - Senior Awards, 7 PM in D-CHS Main Gym

May 13  - Late Start

May 15 - Elementary Walks (be to school at 8:45 AM - must have signed up via the senior walk link by 4/24) 

May 15 - Graduation Rehearsal at 10:30 AM in the Main Gym. This is required to attend graduation - if you have an AP exam, you are excused from rehearsal.

May 15 - Class of 2026 picks up graduation tickets at graduation rehearsal. Your student will pick these up.

May 16 - Graduation at 10 AM (graduates arrive at 9 AM)

Graduation Ceremony

Just a reminder that Graduation is on Saturday, May 16th, at the NOW Arena. The ceremony begins at 10 AM, but ALL GRADUATES need to be there by 9 AM to take pictures and get lined up. Plan on arriving in your Cap and Gown. As a reminder, ALL guests to graduation MUST have a graduation ticket.

  • Each graduate will receive 10 tickets by or at graduation rehearsal on May 15th. If a student can not make the graduation rehearsal, they must contact the main office to pick up their tickets the week of 5/11.

  • If your family does not need all 10 tickets, we kindly encourage your student to leave their extras with staff at rehearsal. Donated tickets are a huge help in ensuring that larger families can celebrate together!

  • If you filled out the additional ticket request form, which was due by April 24th, we are able to honor all of those requests. 

  • Need additional tickets? Extra tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis outside the NOW Arena before the start of the ceremony on graduation day. 

Graduation Rehearsal

Graduation rehearsal is REQUIRED for all graduates (if you have an AP exam, you are excused from graduation rehearsal). Rehearsal is on Friday, May 15th, at 10:30 AM in the Main Gym. Please plan on arriving around 10:15 AM and finding your seat prior to 10:30 AM. We should be done around 12:30 PM.

Cap and Gown Pick Up

If you have not picked up your cap and gown, please stop by the Main Office before the end of the day on Friday, May 8th. If you have ordered a cap and gown but have not paid, we can help you in the Main Office, too.

If you haven’t ordered a cap and gown, or you haven’t paid for your cap and gown, you can still go online and get it taken care of. Any orders received will be subject to paying a shipping fee for them to mail it to your home. Locker Cleanout & Material/Chromebook Return

If you have a locker this year, please clean it out by the end of the day on May 8th. You should also plan on returning your Chromebook and any extraneous materials (books, texts, calculators, etc.) during the day and until 4:00 PM on May 7th and 8th in the Media Center. You can return items earlier than 5/8 by going to the Media Center during the school day.


Senior Awards

The Senior Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, May 11th, in the Main Gym. Here is what award recipients and parents need to know:

  • We ask that students arrive by 6:40 PM and meet in the Multipurpose Room 

  • The ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM - Recipients will walk in together and be seated 

  • Recipients have been notified if they are receiving an award.

  • Award recipients, please plan on “dressing up” for the occasion 

  • During the ceremony, please stay attentive and come up near the stage when your name is called. You will then have your picture taken and receive your award.


Elementary Walks 

For those of you who signed up to participate in the Elementary Walks, THANK YOU! Here is the timeline for that morning:

  • Park and enter the building through the Athletic Entrance

  • Be in your Cap & Gown when you arrive

  • Buses will depart at 9 AM sharp

  • Students may not drive themselves to the elementary schools

  • We will return to D-C around 10:30 AM or so

  • Graduation rehearsal begins at 10:45 AM - do not plan on leaving the building or going to see teachers - you need to stay in the Main Gym!

Finally, and very importantly, we cannot stress enough the need to avoid any destructive senior pranks. Damage to property or disruption of the learning environment are things that we take very seriously. Consequences for participating in an unsanctioned senior prank could include not walking at Graduation.

¡Espero que al recibir este correo se  encuentren bien! Queríamos brindarle información específica de Dundee-Crown y actualizaciones sobre las actividades de fin de año durante las próximas dos semanas.

FECHAS IMPORTANTES:

Los detalles sobre cada evento se pueden encontrar a continuación o en el Folleto para Seniors.

7 y 8 de mayo: Devolver tus materiales al Centro de Medios (biblioteca)

8 de mayo: último día de clases para estudiantes de 12º grado (seniors)

11 de mayo: Reconocimientos  para estudiantes seniors (12º grado), 7 p.m. en el gimnasio principal de D-CHS

13 de mayo: entrada tarde

15 de mayo: caminatas de primaria (estar en la escuela a las 8:45 a. m.; debes haberte inscrito a través de la encuesta para estudiantes de último año antes del 24 de abril)

15 de mayo: ensayo de graduación a las 10:30 a. m. En el gimnasio principal. Esto es un requisito para asistir a la graduación; si tienes un examen AP, no podrás participar en el ensayo.

17 de mayo: graduación a las 10 a. m. (los graduados llegan a las 9 a. m.)

Ceremonia de graduación

Solo un recordatorio de que la graduación será el sábado 16 de mayo en el NOW Arena. La ceremonia comienza a las 10 a. m., pero TODOS LOS GRADUADOS deben estar allí a las 9 a. m. para tomar fotos y formarse. Planeen llegar con su toga y birrete. Como recordatorio, TODOS los invitados a la graduación DEBEN tener un boleto de graduación. 

  • A partir de 2026, TODOS los invitados deberán tener un boleto para ingresar al NOW Arena. 

  • Cada graduado recibirá 10 boletos en o antes del ensayo de graduación el 15 de mayo. Si un estudiante no puede asistir al ensayo de graduación, debe comunicarse con la oficina principal para recoger sus boletos durante la semana del 11 de mayo. 

  • Si su familia no necesita los 10 boletos, le recomendamos amablemente que su estudiante deje los boletos adicionales con el personal durante el ensayo. ¡Los boletos donados son de gran ayuda para asegurar que las familias más grandes puedan celebrar juntas! 

  • Si ya completó la solicitud de boletos adicionales, cuya fecha límite fue el 24 de abril, recibirá un correo electrónico con información sobre cómo obtener esos boletos. 

  • ¿Necesita boletos adicionales? Habrá boletos extra disponibles por orden de llegada afuera del NOW Arena antes del inicio de la ceremonia. 

Ensayo de graduación

El ensayo de graduación es OBLIGATORIO para todos los graduados (si tienen un examen AP, están exentos del ensayo de graduación). El ensayo será el 15 de mayo a las 10:30 a. m. En el gimnasio principal. Planifiquen llegar alrededor de las 10:15 a. m. y encontrar su asiento antes de las 10:30 a. m. Deberíamos terminar alrededor de las 12:30 p.m.

Recogida de toga y birrete

Si no han recogido su toga y birrete (vestimenta de graduación), pasen por la oficina principal antes del final del día viernes 8 de mayo. Si has pedido una toga y un birrete pero no has pagado, también podemos ayudarte en la oficina principal.

Si no has pedido una toga y un birrete, o no has pagado por tu toga y birrete, aún puedes conectarte en línea y encargarte de ello. Cualquier pedido recibido estará sujeto a pagar una tarifa de envío para que lo envíen por correo a su domicilio. Limpieza de casilleros y devolución de material/Chromebook

Si tiene un casillero este año, límpialo antes del final del día 8 de mayo. También debes planear devolver tu Chromebook y cualquier material extraño (libros, textos, calculadoras, etc.) durante el día y hasta las 4:00 p. m. del 7 y 8 de mayo en el Centro de Medios (biblioteca). Pueden devolver artículos antes del 5/8 acudiendo al Centro de Medios (biblioteca) durante el día escolar.


Reconocimientos para seniors

La ceremonia de entrega de reconocimientos para Seniors se llevará a cabo el lunes 12 de mayo en el Gimnasio Principal. Esto es lo que los ganadores de reconocimientos  y los padres deben saber:

  • Pedimos que los estudiantes lleguen a las 6:40 p. m. y se reúnan en la sala multiusos. Los estudiantes seleccionados fueron notificados por el Sr. Figueroa. Si tiene alguna pregunta, comuníquese con nuestro Subdirector de Instrucción, el Sr. Julius Figueroa, en Julius.Figueroa@d300.org 

  • La ceremonia comenzará a las 7:00 p. m.: los destinatarios entrarán juntos y se sentarán.

  • Los acreedores a un reconocimiento serán notificados por el departamento de atletismo para el  4 de mayo. 

  • Los ganadores de reconocimientos planeen “vestirse apropiadamente” para la ocasión.

  • Durante la ceremonia, manténganse atentos y acérquense al escenario cuando digan su nombre. Luego le tomarán una fotografía y recibirá su reconocimiento.

Caminatas a las Escuelas Primarias

Para aquellos que se inscribieron para participar en las Caminatas de Primaria, ¡GRACIAS! Aquí está el cronograma de esa mañana:

  • Estacione y entre al edificio por la entrada de atletismo.

  • Estar en su toga y birrete cuando lleguen.

  • Los autobuses saldrán a las 9 a.m.

  • Regresaremos a D-C alrededor de las 10:30 a. m. aproximadamente.

  • El ensayo de graduación comienza a las 10:45 a. m.; no planeen salir del edificio ni ir a ver a los maestros; ¡deben permanecer en el gimnasio principal!

Finalmente, y muy importante, no podemos enfatizar lo suficiente la necesidad de evitar cualquier broma destructiva de parte de los seniors. Los daños a la propiedad o la alteración del entorno de aprendizaje son cosas que nos tomamos muy en serio. Las consecuencias por participar en una broma de último año no autorizada podrían incluir no caminar en la graduación.
