Senior's End of Year Information

Charger Families 

The end of the year is approaching, and we have a lot of information to share with all of our Senior families! We have a Senior brochure that contains a lot of answers to your questions about prom, graduation, and end of year activities.

A few additional details to note:

Cap and Gown and graduate announcement pickup 

• These events have already taken place. If your student(s) did not pick up their cap and gown, please have them stop by the main office. If you ordered announcements and have not picked them up, please stop by the main office.
• If you are not sure about whether or not you have ordered a cap & gown, please contact Herff Jones directly at 815-756-4743. D-CHS does not have access to ordering lists and does not place orders.

 

Graduation Ceremony

• We are excited to share additional details regarding our upcoming graduation ceremony on May 16 at 10 AM. Please visit https://www.d300.org/graduation for a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.  In addition, we are attaching a NOW Arena map to help you plan out where you would like to sit during the ceremony. Students will walk across a stage that is located on the arena floor close to sections C100/101 and 118/119.
• Families should plan to arrive an hour earlier than the ceremony.
• Starting in 2026, ALL guests must have a ticket to enter the NOW Arena. 
• Each graduate will receive 10 tickets by or at graduation rehearsal on May 15th. If a student can not make the graduation rehearsal, they must contact the main office to pick up their tickets the week of 5/11.
• If your family does not need all 10 tickets, we kindly encourage your student to leave their extras with staff at rehearsal. Donated tickets are a huge help in ensuring that larger families can celebrate together!
• If you already filled out the additional ticket request, which was due by April 24th, you will receive an email regarding receiving those tickets. 
• Need additional tickets? Extra tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis outside the NOW Arena before the start of the ceremony.

Material Return

• Seniors should plan on bringing back any outstanding materials that they might have (Chromebook, textbooks, calculators, etc.) as soon as they are done using them. 
• Return your items to the media center. 
• While your last day of classes is scheduled for May 8, we know that you may be finished with some materials before that date. We encourage you to return items as soon as possible, but understand that many materials will likely be returned on May 8.
• The Media Center will be open from 7-4 PM on May 7th and 8th for returning materials.
• If you need to return your items after May 8th due to testing, please drop them off at D-CHS during school hours or at graduation rehearsal.

Lockers

• If you have a locker this year, be sure it is cleaned out by May 8th.

Senior Walks (to Elementary Schools) 

• The sign up for this event has already passed, and we can not accept additional students. 
• If you signed up, specific communication will be sent to the student's D300 email the week of 5/11. 
• If you signed up, come dressed in your cap and gown!

Familias Chargers - 

¡El final del año se aproxima y tenemos mucha información para hacer llegar a todas nuestras familias de Seniors! Contamos con un  Folleto para Seniors que contiene muchas respuestas a sus preguntas como graduación y actividades de final de año.

Detalles adicionales para tomar en cuenta:

Recoger nuncios de graduación y toga y birrete (vestimenta de graduación)  

• Estos eventos ya tomaron lugar.  Si su estudiante no ha recogido la toga y el birrete, por favor pídale que vaya a la oficina principal.  Si ordenaron anuncios y no los ha recogido, por favor dirigirse a la oficina principal. 
• Si no están seguros de si realizaron su orden de toga y birrete, por favor, comuníquense con la compañía Herff Jones directamente al 815-756-4743.  D-CHS  no tiene acceso a las listas de órdenes y no toma órdenes.

      Ceremonia de graduación

• Nos sentimos emocionados de compartir detalles adicionales sobre nuestra próxima ceremonia de graduación  el 16 de mayo a las 10AM.  Por favor, visite https://www.d300.org/graduation para una lista de preguntas frecuentes.  Además, también encontrarán un mapa del NOW Arena para ayudarles a planificar dónde quieren sentarse durante la ceremonia.  Los estudiantes caminarán por un escenario que está ubicado en el piso de la arena cerca de las secciones C100/101 y 118/119.
• Las familias deben planear llegar una hora antes de la ceremonia.
• A partir de 2026, TODOS los invitados deberán tener un boleto para ingresar al NOW Arena. 
• Cada graduado recibirá 10 boletos en o antes del ensayo de graduación el 15 de mayo. Si un estudiante no puede asistir al ensayo de graduación, debe comunicarse con la oficina principal para recoger sus boletos durante la semana del 11 de mayo. 
• Si su familia no necesita los 10 boletos, le recomendamos amablemente que su estudiante deje los boletos adicionales con el personal durante el ensayo. ¡Los boletos donados son de gran ayuda para asegurar que las familias más grandes puedan celebrar juntas! 
• Si ya completó la solicitud de boletos adicionales, cuya fecha límite fue el 24 de abril, recibirá un correo electrónico con información sobre cómo obtener esos boletos. 
• ¿Necesita boletos adicionales? Habrá boletos extra disponibles por orden de llegada afuera del NOW Arena antes del inicio de la ceremonia. 
• Después de revisar la lista de preguntas frecuentes, si aún tiene preguntas, por favor envíe un correo electrónico a Denise Kimble a Denise.Kimble@d300.org.  También pueden llamar a la oficina principal al 224-484-5000. ¡Esperamos verlos en la ceremonia!

Devolución de materiales

• Los estudiantes Seniors (12vo grado) deben regresar cualquier material escolar (chromebook, libros, calculadoras, etc.) lo más pronto posible una vez que dejen de usarlos. 
• Regresar los artículos en la biblioteca (pedir un recibo).
• Si bien su último día de clases está programado para el 8 de mayo, sabemos que es posible que haya terminado con algunos materiales antes de esa fecha. Le recomendamos que devuelva los artículos lo antes posible, pero es probable que muchos materiales se devuelvan el 8 de mayo.
• La biblioteca estará abierta de 7 a 4PM los 7 y 8 de mayo para regresar los materiales. 
• Contaremos con fechas específicas y horarios para devolver los materiales después del 8 de mayo, pero antes de la graduación. 

  Casilleros

• Si tuviste un casillero este año, asegúrate de limpiarlo antes del  8 de mayo. 

Caminatas de Seniors (12.º grado) en las Escuelas Primarias

• La inscripción para este evento ya ha finalizado y no podemos aceptar estudiantes adicionales. 
• Si se inscribió, se enviará información específica al correo electrónico D300 del estudiante durante la semana del 11 de mayo. 
• Si se inscribió, ¡asista vestido con su toga y birrete!
